Attending a Performance +2 Jordyn O'Neal

 

    In September, I had the wonderful opportunity to see a production of Anne and Emmett in the Spelman College Fine Arts Theatre. Anne and Emmett is a one-act play about a fictional conversation between Emmett Till and Anne Frank. In my honest opinion, I was not originally enthralled with the concept of this play. There is a fine line between comparing tragedies to learn from them and comparing struggles. I think this play did a good job at not crossing this line. I am curious if this was the director's or the actor’s choice, but Emmett’s character came across as humorous. I think the tone of his character was not translated well for the seriousness of his murder.
