Meeting with Current Ph.D. Candidate (Informational Interview - 4 points) Alyssa Amaker

 

    On Friday, July 31st, I met with Georga-Kay Whyte, a history Ph.D. candidate at Brown University whose digital portfolio caught my eye as I was scouring the Internet for inspiration for my own. I asked her a lot of questions about Brown's doctoral program, its digital humanities resources, and opportunities for digital scholarship.

    I enjoyed our conversation and it was encouraging to see another black woman pursuing a Ph.D. in history. I look forward to conducting more of these informational interviews with current graduate students and potential advisors.
