Taking Art Classes or Workshops (5 Points)

I had the oppurtunity to take a Spanish cooking class while abroad in Salamanca Spain. The chefs walked us through preparing traditional Spanish foods like paella, sangria, tortilla y natillas. Using both our spanish language and cooking skills, my group and I worked together to construct the perfect Spanish dinner.

Food is one of the easiest ways to exchange culture and this experience allowed me to understand the historical and social significance of these types of foods. The importance of relying on the ingredients for flavors in place of traditional seasonings, or using specific types of rice to allow for a more convenient cooking of the food in general. I had an amazing time working with these foods and hope to use similar methodologies for cooking in the future.
