Syriana Etheart: Attending an Honors Event - First Year Mixer with Morehosue (3 points)

 On February 16th, I attended the first-year mixer hosted by the honors program in collaboration with Morehouse. Outside of the sibling exchange, we hadn’t really had any interactions with the Morehouse honors program. Therefore, I thought this event was a great way to further encourage the siblinghood between our two programs. 

Overall, the event went pretty well. I was definitely able to talk to my honors sister and get to know some of our honors brothers briefly. I will say that there wasn’t a huge turnout for this event. I believe since information regarding this event was shared at the last minute, it significantly contributed ti the number of people who showed up. In the future, I think information should be shared at least a week prior. I also would have loved to see more activities, such as board games, to encourage everyone to interact and get to know each other. Nevertheless, I thought this was a pretty good event. 

I definitely hope that there will be more collaborative events with the Morehouse honors program. Whether it was a collaborative service or another mixer, I believe these collaborative events give us the opportunity to continue to get to know each other!
