Organizing A Workshop: Harvard BLSA x AUC (9 pts)

Organizing the Harvard Black Law Students Association's On the Road event with various AUC organizations was a really impactful experience that combined leadership, collaboration, and professional development. One of the biggest strengths of the event was the access it gave students to current law students at Harvard Black Law Students Association, who were able to share honest insights about navigating law school, building community, and preparing for the admissions process. The panel format made the information feel approachable and real, and partnering with multiple AUC organizations helped expand the reach and create a strong sense of collective investment in the event. One area that could have been improved was time management—because the conversation was so engaging, there wasn’t as much time as we would have liked for audience questions. In the future, building in more structured Q&A time or even breakout sessions could help make the experience more interactive.

This experience is closely connected to my broader involvement in Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and my interest in pursuing law. A pattern I’ve noticed across my pre-law experiences is how important access and transparency are—spaces like this help demystify the law school journey and make it feel more attainable, especially for students who may not have direct connections to the legal field. Bringing together students from across the AUC also reinforced how powerful collaboration can be in creating opportunities and sharing resources.

The impact of organizing this event was both affirming and motivating. It strengthened my confidence in building partnerships and creating programming that directly supports students’ professional goals. It also reminded me of the importance of representation and mentorship in legal spaces. Moving forward, I want to continue organizing events that connect students with law schools and legal professionals, expand access to information about the legal field, and create spaces where students feel supported and prepared to pursue their goals.
