Giving Back to East Atlanta Kids Club
Community Service – 3 Points
Volunteering with the East Atlanta Kids Club was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had this semester. Through this opportunity, I helped introduce young kids to the sport of lacrosse, and it was amazing to see how excited and engaged they were while learning something new.
For many of the kids, lacrosse was a sport they had never played before. Being able to teach them the basics, how to hold the stick, pass, and move with the ball, felt really meaningful. It wasn’t just about the game itself; it was about giving them exposure to something different and showing them that sports can be fun, empowering, and accessible.
What stood out to me the most was their enthusiasm. Even when drills were challenging or unfamiliar, the kids approached everything with energy and curiosity. Seeing their excitement reminded me of why sports can be such a powerful tool for building confidence and teamwork.
This experience is also connected to my own journey as an athlete. Lacrosse has been an important part of my life, and being able to share that passion with younger kids felt like a full-circle moment. It reminded me that sports have the ability to bring people together, create opportunities, and teach valuable life lessons.
Overall, volunteering with East Atlanta Kids Club was both fun and meaningful. It showed me how important it is to give back to the community and to create opportunities for younger generations to explore new interests and activities.
