Georgia Dwelle Health Professions Gala (Attending professional networking events) — Natalie Alexander (Class of 2029) 3 points
On Friday, February 27, 2026 I attended the Georgia Dwelle, MD, Gala hosted by the Spelman College Health Careers Program. The event took place at the AUC Woodruff Library and honored outstanding leaders within the Spelman College Health Careers Program community, particularly those tasked with running the program in the past. This black tie event was open to all Spelman students but primarily those who are members of the Health Careers Program. Dr. Rosalind Gregory-Bass was the spearhead for the event who recognized the evening’s honorees and listed the accomplishments of this current cycle of the Health Careers Program. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the legacies of the various Health Careers Program leads who worked tirelessly to mold and elevate the program. Going forward, it would be nice if the event could include more involvement from current students in the program whether that be announcing the award recipients or giving testimonials on how the program has shaped them. It was such an elegant and inspiring event that I am looking forward to attending in the coming years.
