Attending Professional Networking Events - 3 points (C’O 2027)

 

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Georgia Dwelle, MD, Gala. This gala was held at the Woodruff library and honored all past directors of Spelman’s Health Careers Program. Along with award recipients, community members in health-related fields were also on attendance offering an opportunity for networking. And although this event served as a networking opportunity, it was also very informative about Black history related to medicine. There were multiple speakers that successfully illuminated the ties of the Health Careers Program to the history of Spelman and Atlanta in general.
