Visiting galleries/museums (beyond dedicated category): 2 points(Neriah Carson)
I attended the Delta Flight Museum while working as an oyster girl for Oysters XO, where I had the opportunity to explore various exhibits highlighting the history and innovation of aviation. Observing the aircraft and interactive displays allowed me to better understand the creativity, precision, and technological advancement required to shape such a transformative industry. One strength of this experience was the museum’s engaging and well-curated exhibits, which made complex developments in aviation easy to understand. Additionally, interacting with a diverse group of visitors enhanced the overall experience. However, balancing my work responsibilities limited the time I had to fully engage with each exhibit. Allowing more dedicated exploration time could have improved my ability to reflect more deeply on the information presented. This experience connected to my academic interests by reinforcing the importance of innovation and attention to detail—qualities that are essential in fields like cosmetic chemistry. Similar to aviation, the beauty industry relies on continuous research and thoughtful design to create effective products. I noticed a pattern of progress throughout the museum, emphasizing how past discoveries influence modern advancements. Attending the Delta Flight Museum strengthened my appreciation for industries driven by creativity and science. It encouraged me to continue seeking experiences that broaden my perspective and support my professional growth. Moving forward, I plan to pursue opportunities that combine learning with real-world exposure as I work toward a career centered on innovation and meaningful impact.
