Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer walk (Volunteer work related to career goals) — Natalie Alexander (Class of 2029) 2 points
On October 25, 2025, I volunteered with the Health Careers Club at the annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer walk. The annual Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk is a premier, community-driven fundraiser to raise money for breast cancer research, patient support, and advocacy. Participants typically Walt a 1 to 3 mile route along a course to honor survivors and those lost to the disease by creating a “sea of pink”. In previous years, I have participated in the walk with some of my family members as a means of showing my solidarity towards everyone who has been impacted in some way by the disease. This year I was given the opportunity to serve as a volunteer while supporting the needs of each participant. As a volunteer, I was able to cheer on the participants while handing out water and assisting in the tear-down process. This event was amazing to experience and further opened my eyes to the various healthcare volunteer opportunities available to me. I can confidently say that this will not be my last time at the MORE THAN PINK walk or a healthcare related fundraising initiative.
