Researching and identifying potential scholarships and awards: 2 points - Amiyah Scott

 

On February 13, I used Backrs to search for scholarship opportunities. The platform made it easy to find options that matched my background and interests, which showed me that there are more opportunities out there than I sometimes realize. It reminded me that scholarships don’t just “appear”—you have to actively look and be consistent.

This experience pushed me to take more responsibility for my financial planning and be proactive about funding my education. I also saw how important it is to clearly tell my story when applying, not just list achievements. Moving forward, I plan to set aside time regularly to search and apply, knowing that persistence can open real doors.
