Kinsley Wilson - Volunteer work related to career field (+3 points)
Starting in August 2025, I have worked as a labor support volunteer at Emory University Hospital in Midtown. This volunteering program is fulfilling and informative. As an aspiring obstetrics CRNA, this program has confirmed my career path and encourages me to continue pursuing it. As a labor support volunteer, I aid the mother throughout her labor by providing acupressure massages, aromatherapy, and position changes with a peanut ball or a yoga ball. Above all, I’ve been able to mentally support mothers who are going through this beautiful experience alone. I’ve also been able to witness how epidurals are administered and the processes leading up to giving birth. I also have been able to witness learning objectives in my courses in real life. Being able to apply my knowledge of healthcare, microbial diseases, and patient care from class has helped me become a valuable volunteer in this program. I fully believe this program will prepare me to become the best nurse I can be by helping me develop proper bedside manner and learn to listen and properly assess my patients.
Sincerely,
Kinsley Wilson
