Chelseaparis Henry- Visiting Galleries/Museums (2pts)

On January 30th, I closed out the first month of the year with a refreshing experience building community! A friend and I attended MUSE, an art gallery opening for Niche Atlanta. I was beyond eager to attend after finding out that the gallery owner and company founder was a Spelman Alumna. Not only did the event showcase beautiful artwork, but it also gave the guests the opportunity to network and build connections. One connection and takeaway from this experience was the ability to prioritize meeting new people and igniting genuine conversation with them. I was able to meet several AUC graduates, take advice about starting our careers, and hear their stories about young adult social life. It was a blessing to be in the same spaces as such affluent young black people who are continuing and developing their own legacies. After this event, I left feeling soulfully fed and full of warmth from the community that I had built.
