I checked out *Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty* from my local library. The authors, Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson, explore how political and economic institutions shape prosperity, arguing that inclusive institutions lead to success, while extractive ones cause poverty.

I found the book enriching and eye-opening, challenging my views on economics and development. The complexity of the issues made it a bit demanding to digest, but the historical examples were fascinating and helped illustrate the authors' points.

The concepts in the book directly tie to my economics course, particularly our discussions of how governance affects market outcomes. After returning the book, I bought the Kindle edition to revisit it when needed.
