Bouquet Workshop with Spelman Knittens 2/9/26
Taking art classes/workshops: 4 points
This past Monday, I had the pleasure of attending the Spelman Knittens Bouquet Workshop with my roommate, Morgan. As an avid crocheter who hasn’t been able to work on any projects this semester, I appreciate the space the Knittens have created to explore our creative outlets. In this workshop, our task was to create lilies using pipe cleaners, wire, and trusty hot glue guns. Though the event was bustling with people, we managed to get the pipe cleaners of choice and get to work. The steps were fairly simple; however, executing them to the degree of perfection we desired was quite the task. Through frustration with the shape of our petals and the long wait to hot-glue false anthers onto the flowers, we finally had our lovely finished product. I was quite proud of myself, considering the amount of time and effort I put into my flowers. Being able to engage with arts and crafts amid my STEM-heavy workload has been a treat. The arts have always been my safe space and way to relax, so I truly appreciate the opportunity to craft with the Knittens!
