Attending performances (concert): 2 points

 Last semester, my partner and I attended Ludivico Einaudi's concert at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. Einaudi is an Italian pianist and composer. His music is known for being powerful and moving. My personal favorite song of his is Experience. This was such an interesting opportunity for me because I have never liked classical music, when I was younger I would fall asleep during school field trips to performance halls. I like my music have to have drums, horns, some rhythm that has texture to it. But listening to Einaudi made me question my whole perspective on classical music. I guess I just enjoy music that makes me feel something. His music is empowering, I listen to it whenever I want to allow myself to experience my emotions to the fullest. This experience made me realize there are so many opportunities I am closing myself off to because of my biases. As an aspiring social worker I understand that I need to be more open to new perspectives and experiences so I can connect with people who come from different backgrounds. I incorporate new experiences to my daily life because of Einaudi.
