Asheley Jones, Researching and identifying potential scholarships and awards: 2 points

I am applying for Master of Social Work programs this cycle and I am searching for grants, scholarships, and fellowships. One of the first resources I checked was the National Association of Social Workers website. While many scholarships' deadlines have passed or  I lack the eligibility, I did find one scholarship that I can apply to. It is the Verne LaMarr Lyons Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to MSW students who want to work in mental health care and with African-American communities. I aspire to be a school social worker in Title 9 or minority serving schools. This scholarship will help take some of the financial burden off of my shoulders as I make my decisions regarding graduate school. It will ensure that I select the best school for me to go to, not just the most affordable one.
