Visiting the story of Nancy Elizabeth Prophet in the Museum : (2 points) Madison Norwood (Class of 2029)
Visiting Spelman College’s museum was an enriching experience. I love the atmosphere of femininity and art that tells a story as the museum is dedicated to a Spelman alumna artist. I visited the museum 4 separate times and received a different experience each time. I thoroughly enjoyed the film in the museum especially as I am an actress in the film and entertainment industry. The film was non - fiction and displayed a true story of women’s experiences working in the labor industry. The museum is a place where students and guests can learn about Nancy Elizabeth Prophet and other artists' artistry and journeys in the arts across the world. Nancy’s journey exhibited in the museum inspired me to persevere through hardships especially in the arts and entertainment industry as I will face challenges similar to Nancy since I am a black woman. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and am grateful that Spelman College offers this story and artistry to students and guests.
