Taking language classes (4 pts) - (Endia Evans, Class of 2028)

This past semester, I took Intermediate Spanish II (Spanish 202), successfully completing my language course sequence for Spelman.  This accomplishment was truly meaningful to me, as I have been studying Spanish since middle school and throughout all four years of high school.  Through the years, I have become very familiar and proficient with the language.  Being in Spanish 202 has expanded my vocabulary comprehension and writing skills.  My favorite chapter in this course was on El Consultorio (The Doctor’s Office).  I enjoyed learning the vocabulary and how to explain health symptoms in Spanish, especially as an aspiring healthcare professional.  This chapter also inspired my final project for Spanish 202, which was an interactive jeopardy game inspired by the doctor’s office.  Overall, taking Spanish for two semesters at Spelman has been highly rewarding and engaging, as it has helped me improve my Spanish proficiency through in-class group activities, reading and writing assignments, and oral examinations.  Successfully completing Spanish 202 with an A, I am excited to have another language in my toolbox to utilize in the real world, including my career, travel, and everyday conversations with those fluent in the language.
