Syriana Etheart: Attending Honors Christmas Party (2-3 points)

         On December 5th, I attended the Honors program Christmas party. The party was a lot of fun. I went with some of my friends from the honors program and was able to connect with other honors students who attended. The first thing my friends and I did was help ourselves to some food and hot chocolate, which was very on theme. Next, we took pictures at the picture booth. I love how we were all able to have our own personal photo strip. There was then a musical chairs competition. I didn’t participate in it because I personally feel like I’m not the best at it, but I was able to sit on the sidelines and cheer on my friends.

Following the competition, in which one of my friends actually won, I went to decorate cookies. I chose a stocking cookie and made it Spelman themed, of course. I think the cookie decorating was my favorite part because I found it really relaxing. It was also really interesting to see how everyone decorated their cookies differently. 

Overall, I had a lot of fun at this event. This was the first honors event I attended this year, seeing as it aligned with my schedule, and I definitely plan on attending more. I could tell a lot of time and effort was put into creating this event from the decorations and the activities. It was a great opportunity to interact with my fellow honors sisters while getting to have some fun and relax right before taking my finals.
