Presenting at a Career Workshop (+5)

In November of 2025, I served as a panelist for the Spelman Sister in STEM (SIS) Black Girls STEM panel. During this panel, we were able to discuss how we got into the sciences, microaggressions and why Black women do STEM better than everyone else. As an upperclasswoman with several research experiences, I was able to offer insight on what it's like to engage as a Black woman at PWIs and HBCUs. Further, I provided tips on how to apply for internships, battle imposter syndrome and fall in love with science despite challenging coursework. This event was full circle for me because I needed this kind of representation as a young girl. Further, after a very White and Asian dominated summer at Northwestern, it was beautiful to see so many Black women passionate about and talented in the STEM field. The other panelists even inspired me to take my research, mentorship and philanthropy to new levels.
