Presenting at a career-related workshop or conference: 5 Points (C'O 2027)

I had the pleasure and great opportunity to work with Dr. Etoi Garrison and Dr. Amelie Pham on the research topic “Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Periconception HbA1c, and Social Vulnerability: Is One Associated With the Other in Pregnancy?”. I was then able to present our findings at the end-of-program presentation to undergraduate students around the country and faculty and physicians at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. This marked the second year I was able to work with the lab, and served in reiterating my interests in maternal health and socio-economic factors related to it. In order to build on this experience, I hope to find ways to relate the maternal health research I have conducted to finding ways to improve health outcomes for birthing people in minority communities.
