Presenting at a career-related workshop or conference( 5 points) – Parker Buchanan ℅ ‘27

On January 11th, 2026 I had the opportunity to present members of my Sorority with words of wisdom as we bring in the 118th celebration of the founding of our organization. In my segment I was able to charge members with reverencing the amazing women and pioneers who we are to thank for our organization existing and I also brought to them a fun “Pass the Phone” video of different chapters within our cluster giving thanks to the founders of the Sorority. It was so much fun and truly gave me the opportunity to get more out of my shell with public speaking. This connects to what I would like to do in my career because in wealth management I will be required to speak with many clients and articulate myself in a way that makes them feel comfortable. A comfortable client is a satisfied client, and that's what I’m aiming to get better with now! Public speaking has not always been my strongest suit, but participating in this zoom webinar got me one step closer to feeling confident in that client-advisor relationship I want to have in the future.
