Nyabinghi Irving-HIM Screening: Attending documentary film screening: 2 points

 

I went with my friend  to a free early screening of the movie “HIM.” I really enjoyed it overall and noticed the underlying messages that reference how many black children are groomed into the sports industry and are expected to do anything to keep up. The whole thing kind of showed how sometimes signing to a team is like signing your soul away, which is what they were trying to make Cam do at the end of the movie. In the end, he was able to break free and escape, but not without a very big struggle. I feel like it's honestly a pretty good comparison to how it is in real life, just a little exaggerated.
