Nyabinghi Irving-A commemoration of black august: Attending Honors Program events (lectures, workshops, social gatherings): 3 points

At the beginning of the semester, I attended the “A Commemoration of Black August” event for honors. My family has always made sure that I know about her and other people involved in the civil rights movement, but I had never seen this movie and being able to experience it as well as have a conversation and ask professors for extra details about it really helped solidify the information I already knew, as well as teaching me even more facts that I did not know prior to the session.
