National Scholarship and Panel with NSHSS : (8 points) Madison Norwood (Class of 2029)
I have had the honor of being a member of the National Society of High School Scholars since I was a junior in High School at Eagles Landing Christian Academy. The society offers many scholarships for its members to apply to including the Diversity Scholarship, and in my senior year of high school I was excited to receive the scholarship after an extensive application process. The society does a wonderful job of staying in touch with its members even after graduation. In doing so, they invited me to serve as a student panelist at NSHSS Scholars’ Day. This day included a college and career fair, student social, and a student scholarship panel which I was invited to speak on as a panelist to share my journey and advice with high school students. I was also honored and recognized for the scholarship at an awards ceremony later that day. I had a wonderful time serving as a panelist and offering advice and tips to students on the importance of applying to scholarships early, how to find scholarships you are eligible for, and how to stand out in applications. It was a great experience being able to answer students and parents questions about applying to scholarships and giving advice to help other students receive funding to help fund their education.
