Meet and Greet With Spelman Alumnae: Chloe Billingslea (2-3 points)

 
During New student orientation, we were offered the opportunity to attend a meet and greet with Spelman alumnae. During this meeting we were able to ask questions of the Spelmanites that came before us. They shared valuable insight not only about their experiences with Spelman, but also how this college shaped their professional and personal paths. Their stories in navigating academics and their journeys after graduation gave a sense of reassurance as we were all preparing to begin our Spelman paths. The wisdom given was invaluable the atmosphere around the conversation had an inspiring and informative air. This meeting only highlighted the unshakable strength of the Spelman sisterhood. The continued support of the alumnae shows how Spelman isn't just a college, but a lifelong community. After we all gathered in a circle to rehearse the Spelman hymn, some of us continued to walk our alumnae sisters out just to keep the conversation going. This experience reminded me just how important and beautiful it is to carry forward our legacy and honoring those who paved the way before me.
