Internship Conference: Chloe Billingslea (2-3 points)

 I attended an event that highlighted the importance of internships and what they can offer in future opportunities. Our discussions reviewed multiple points of insight, such as how internships can be utilized as more than just building a résumé. They can also serve as spaces for learning in both professional growth along with growth in self discovery. Our speakers and mentors also shared their own internship opportunity stories that provided insight in how these experiences helped their real world knowledge and connections in different environments. The opportunities for networking and gaining further mentorship through your internships was another point of discussion. Nurturing the relationships you're presented with is critical toward success, open doors to guidance, and future opportunities. After attending this event, I not only gained further understanding in how internships can connect academic exploration and professional aspirations, but also the importance of seeking out these opportunities and growing the relationships blossoming from them.
