Attending performances: 2 points

 

I went to support my best friend in the Noire concert which was titled and themed “Interstellar.” Noire, a contemporary ensemble group on campus, functions somewhat like a choir with a band. There were amazing solos and beautiful harmonies throughout the concert. On the theme of “interstellar,” the show included songs like David Bowie’s “Starman,” Donald Glover’s “Me and Your Mama,” and Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love.” The music either frequently blatantly referenced space (“Starman”) or had an electro/psychedelic sound (“I Feel Love”). I have been to a few Noire concerts, and I’ve never left without my mind being blown. Noire has such talented individuals with harmonies and solos that make my jaw drop every time. I’ve always loved music and I’m an avid concert goer with choral and band performance group experience, so being able to keep that in my life at school and my best friend being involved is really special to me.
