Attending Music Winterfest : (2 points) Madison Norwood (Class of 2029)

 Spelman College’s Department of Music Winterfest Fall 2025 Student Performances Program was phenomenal! I was invited by my friend Taylar Wharton to watch her perform a flute solo. Her solo was magical and the way she effortlessly played the piece was a sight to see and even better to hear. The other performers were phenomenal as well as they performed different acts playing the piano, other instruments, and singing. This became an amazing opportunity to network with other artists on campus and watch them do what they love. I appreciate the atmosphere created by these performances. Most of the students were not art majors, but solely students who wanted to continue creating and expressing themself through music. It was an intimate environment that made you feel personally connected to each artist and their works. I am eager to continue immersing myself into intimate spaces to support other artists where art is genuine and authentic.
