Attending Honors Program Events (3pts): AUC Honors Mixer- Kristian Caldwell
The AUC Honors Mixer event encouraged me to step out of the classroom and engage intellectually with a broader intellectual community. By choosing to attend. I exercised academic agency and curiosity, placing myself in a space designed for connection, reflection and growth. The interactive games and bingo activity pushed me to communicate openly and listen to other perspectives, which I saw was a way of sharing ideas and learning through dialogue. Being surrounded by honors students from across the AUC reminded me that intellectual life is not limited to lectures or assignments, but it is shaped through conversation, presence and community.
Talking with students from Clark Atlanta and my fellow Morehouse brothers allowed me to better understand how institutions differ while still being united in purpose. Line dancing, group photos, and shared laughter created a sense of belonging further reminding me on why I chose Spelman.
