Attending a career-related workshop or seminar: 2 points

This summer, I participated in the Andrew D. Mellon Diversity in Conservation workshop, traveling to Los Angeles and joining a cohort of nine other students interested in conservation. We held meetings with various museum professionals, including those in conservation. I was also able to conduct my own research on a personal project, learning about microscopy and how to use the lab independently. We also toured several museums' collections and their ongoing treatment projects. Overall, the experience allowed me to connect more with professionals and decide further if I wish to pursue a career in conservation.
