Creating original artwork + Attending performances (7 points) - Lydia Scott
This past November, I had the experience of attending the Noire Concert and being a part of the small crew tasked with the filming of it. I was familiar with Noire and attended performances in the past, seeing as my close friend was a part of the ensemble, but shooting a concert was a completely new experience for me, especially seeing as the footage from my camera was being transmitted to a live feed! When shooting for their dress rehearsal and the actual performance, I had to use a shoulder rig (pictured above) which was a learning curve, to say the least! The shoulder rig allows for a more-stabilized version of a handheld look, and while it was cool to use, it was also quite difficult to get right. Overall, I'm grateful the experience as I don't think I would've had the push to learn how to use a different rig otherwise. It was also wonderful getting to work with the rest of the camera operators, as I always enjoy working with a diligent and capable team that I can share ups-and-downs with.
