I joined this zoom call ( as you can see my name on the zoom screen) in order to further connect with my peers in MAPS, hear some advice from medical professional panelists and better handle possible nervousness regarding my future career. This event provided a space for honest reflection on potential challenges while navigating a health career and healthy thinking to ensure those setbacks do not prevent us from achieving our goals. Listening to these experiences from physicians helped normalized having challenging moments, but medicine and life as a whole is about how we propel forward. Self-doubt can be common in these rigorous environment, but it is crucial to remember how far we have come, blessing that have happened, and what is best for us will happen. This event helped solidify the importance of built confidence over something that is innate and may fade over time. Continuing to put myself in spaces that can help me grow as a professionals and a young woman will assist me on my journey. Because of this, I will approach medicine with humility and create an environment for people to vulnerable and foster personal growth.
