Ca'Miyah King '27 - Attending Study Abroad informational sessions: 2 points

I attended the Spelman Semester Abroad Informational session designed for students who will be studying abroad for extended periods of time. The session provided detailed guidance on academic expectations, cultural adjustment, and logistical preparation for living and learning in another country. Through this experience, I was able to better understand what long-term international study entails, both inside and outside of the classroom. I also shared space with other students preparing for similar journeys, which reinforced the importance of community and intentional preparation when engaging in global education.

I have been selected to participate in the IES Abroad Political Science program in Barcelona, an opportunity that aligns closely with my academic interests in government, law, and international political systems. Attending this informational strengthened my confidence in my decision to study abroad and clarified how this experience will contribute to my intellectual growth, cultural awareness, and long-term academic goals.
