Serving as the treasurer of Spriggs Burroughs Drama and Dance ensemble this semester, while performing in a production has taught me a lot. I have learned a lot about budgeting for a theatrical production, and making financial decisions (dues, ticket prices, concessions prices, purchases, etc.), and how important communication is with all involved parties. During this process, due to a lack of communication between me and multiple parties, several purchases were made without consulting me, leading to a large overspending issue. If I continue to serve in this role during future semesters, I need to be more assertive with guidelines, and create a clear financial plan.
