Volunteer Work Related to Healthcare Advocacy: SKIRTS Breast Cancer Awareness Wall (+3 pts)
I, alongside my SKIRTS sisters, decorated the SKIRTS Goes Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Wall in Upper Manley as a way to honor and celebrate the resilience of women affected by breast cancer. As I helped put up pictures of survivors and decorated plates with facts about their journeys, I felt a deep sense of purpose and connection. Each image and statistic represented a story of strength, perseverance, and hope. Working alongside my sisters to bring this vision to life allowed us to combine creativity with compassion, turning a simple display into a powerful message of awareness and unity. Watching students stop to read the messages and reflect reminded me of how impactful small acts of service can be. This experience strengthened my commitment to health advocacy and deepened my appreciation for the women whose stories inspire others to fight, heal, and thrive. It was a moment that beautifully embodied the mission and sisterhood of SKIRTS.
