Victoria Morris - Attending a career-related workshop or seminar: 2 points
This summer, I had an incredible experience attending the University of Pennsylvania's 2025 School of Arts and Sciences Virtual Series. Over the course of two months, I participated in workshops that provided me with invaluable insights into preparing for graduate school. One key takeaway was learning how to obtain strong letters of recommendation. I received excellent advice on choosing the right professors and approaching them, which will be helpful as I seek endorsements for my applications. I also worked on crafting a compelling personal statement, learning how crucial it is to tell my academic story and share my aspirations. Networking also played a significant role. I had the chance to listen to current Penn graduate students talk about their experiences. Their stories were both inspiring and insightful, giving me a realistic view of graduate student life and emphasizing the importance of building connections. I'm excited to put the knowledge and skills I've gained into practice as I prepare for the next steps in my academic journey.
