Reflections from Kamala Harris’s 107 Days Book Tour (Attending author talks/book readings) – Jordan Fischer
Attending Kamala Harris’s 107 Days Book Tour was an experience that reminded me how powerful it is to be in a room full of people inspired by purpose. Hearing her speak about her journey and the lessons she learned through both triumph and loss made me think deeply about resilience and what it means to lead with authenticity.
What stood out most was how she spoke about continuing to serve even when things don’t go as planned. It made me reflect on the importance of perseverance, especially as a young Black woman learning to navigate my own path. I found myself connecting her words to the kind of leadership I see encouraged at Spelman, leadership that is rooted in community, reflection, and growth.
After the event, talking with other students about what her message meant to each of us helped me realize how shared experiences can spark deeper understanding. It was more than just attending a talk; it was a moment that brought together conversation, inspiration, and the kind of collective motivation that defines the Spelman sisterhood.
