Phlebotomy Technician Certification - Class of 2027

Following 5 weeks of an accelerated certification course, I received my Phlebotomy Technician Certification September 27, 2025. Through this course I was able to not only learn a significant amount about the specimen collection side of medicine, but how there are a variety of nuances that go into being an allied health professional aside from what is typically seen as “their job”. For example, I previously thought that drawing blood would be the sole responsibility of the phlebotomist. However, through rigorous training I learned that the act of drawing the blood is one small part of what a phlebotomist has to know and do, with other aspects of the job relating to the extensive knowledge you must have of several forms of specimen collection. I intend on taking this knowledge, synthesized with my previous experiences shadowing in the medical field, and applying it to my future career as a physician, especially relating to my appreciation of allied health professionals.
