Phi Alpha Delta Georgetown Event - Attending a career-related workshop or seminar (2 points)

Spelman's Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) Chapter organized an inspiring event with current Spelman Alumnae who attend Georgetown's Law Center. This was a wonderful opportunity to ask questions about what it is like to be a Black women at Georgetown and the ways that these students build community, create opportunities, and benefits from a law education through Georgetown.

As an aspiring law student, it is helpful to hear from students especially when those students have a similar background. As Spelman graduates they have an understanding of the things I am experiencing as a Spelman student and also understand the type of community I will be leaving upon graduation. These students emphasized the importance and impact of a unified culture/community and law school and expressed their love for Georgetown's unified culture that reflects that of Spelman.I enjoyed listening to them discuss how they are using their education to lay a pathway into the sectors they hope to pursue and the ways that their institution is helping them achieve their goals.

There is no doubt that Georgetown is an amazing institution, but I was really struck and inspired by watching these girls achieve their dreams. Regardless of the institution I think Black women in the legal field are incredibly impressive and it reaffirms my own career goals as it assures that if they can do it, so can I.
