Participating in Honors Program Leadership Roles (JH)

For the 2025-2026 school year, I serve as the co-publicity chair for the Honors Program Student Association. Some strengths that I have for this opportunity are that I am able to express myself freely in design and increase engagement in the honors program. In addition, I also have great time management, where I’m able to complete the flyers on time. I also have amazing communication and interpersonal skills, allowing me to interact with the E-Board and general body members. Another strength that I have gained throughout this opportunity is that I am able to work together with the Co-Publicity Chair and Liaison to get flyers out on time.  One weakness that I have is that I had to balance being on the executive board and completing all of the multiple flyers we had to complete each month. Another weakness that I had was that while applying for my post-graduation plans, I had to remain focused and committed to completing both my applications and flyers on time. The weaknesses could have been improved by completing the flyers ahead of time and communicating with the other members of the board when I needed help.

This experience connects to other knowledge that I have gained because it has shown me the importance of graphic design and how to engage with a prospective audience. I have been the publicity chair for multiple organizations before the Honors Program Student Association. Thus, I was able to use my prior knowledge in many things that I succeeded as the co-publicity chair. One pattern that I’ve noticed is that I am able to capture the theme of the event while remaining professional on a social media platform.

This activity has influenced my goals and aspirations because it has strengthened my passion for art and artistic expression, and it has made me want to pursue art in my healthcare career. To build on this experience, I will continue to create choir and graphics in my free time and create a schedule for myself to upload posts on time.
