Local Scholarship Recipient : True Blue 1881 & Newbirth Missionary Baptist Church (4 Points) - (Kenzie Moore Class of 2028)

 

On September 3, 2025, I was honored to receive two $500 scholarships during the Newbirth Missionary Baptist Church King’s Food Ministry Table Event, in partnership with True Blue 1881 and Pastor Jamal Bryant.  This recognition was both humbling and affirming, as it celebrated not only academic achievement but also community service and faith-driven purpose.

Receiving this award reminded me of the importance of maintaining a spirit of gratitude and perseverance.  Financial support like this allows students like me to continue pursuing excellence while balancing the many challenges of college life. I was especially inspired by Pastor Bryant’s message about using our gifts to uplift others, a philosophy that aligns deeply with my personal mission to utilize technology and leadership to serve underrepresented communities.

Being recognized in a church setting made the moment even more meaningful because it connected my spiritual and academic journeys.  It reminded me that my accomplishments are not mine alone but are made possible through faith, community, and the support of those who believe in my potential.

This experience strengthened my commitment not only to achieve but also to give back, to create opportunities for others just as others have created them for me.
