Kinsley Wilson - Leadership role in an academic organization (+3 points)

For this academic year, I was selected to serve as the publicity chair for the executive board of Spelman College’s pre-nursing Organization. As Publicity Chair for the Pre-Nursing Club executive board next year, I will be able to take a more active leadership role on my campus.  Therefore, I will be responsible for managing the club’s social media presence, designing flyers, and coordinating outreach to ensure that members are informed and connected.  My goal is to create clean, visually appealing, and consistent messaging promoting future events, volunteering, and nursing resources.  I look forward to utilizing creativity and planning to enhance the club’s relationship with its members and the broader student body.

I plan to collaborate with other executive board members as Publicity Chair to promote events that contribute to students’ academic and professional development.  These activities include nursing school orientation programs, professional networking events, and community outreach initiatives.  With ongoing updates and adjustments to posting times, I have no doubt that there will be increased participation and visibility of the club's activities. This role will also enable me to enhance my marketing, time management, and leadership skills, which are essential not only in healthcare but in general.

In the years to come, I am excited to bring fresh ideas to the board and use this position to create a more interactive and supportive environment for pre-nursing students.  I hope to make all students feel well-versed and encouraged to utilize the resources provided to them.  Being the Publicity Chair will not only make the club grow, but also professionally and personally enhance my growth as I make a career shift in nursing.
