In September, I was honored to be selected as 1 of 12 undergraduate students across the nation to participate in the United Health Foundation's Health Care Scholars United Scholarship Program. This wraparound program not only provides me with a $5,000 scholarship per year, but also tutoring assistance, pre-med advising, MCAT prep, career coaching, and wellness support!

During our orientation last week, I got the chance to meet my fellow cohort members for the first time! I am beyond excited to take advantage of the plethora of opportunities and resources that are available for me to thrive as a future healthcare professional. I was especially inspired by the scholar stories of former cohorts; students were able to matriculate into phenomenal medical schools successfully with the help of academic advisors, financial assistance, and career coaches from the program! As an aspiring dermatologist, I am extremely passionate about obtaining my MD, but I know how extensive and tedious the journey to medical school can be. With the incredible aid of well recognized academic, career, and healthcare professionals, I certainly see my dream of becoming a dermatologist coming true!

     I am beyond excited to begin participating in the program's monthly webinars and conversing with my new mentors and advisors! I can foresee this program teaching me discipline, perseverance, expanding my curiosity, and instilling an increased drive within me for medicine.
