Inducted Into MSM Undergraduate Health Science Academy- 6 pts- Dominique Preston

 This semester, I was accepted into the Undergraduate Health Science Academy at Morehouse School of Medicine. The application process was extremely competitive, and I am so grateful to have been blessed with the opportunity to join such an organization. Some strengths of UHSA include the community of like-minded students pursuing medicine, the network of MSM staff and students we are able to converse with, and the positive atmosphere of the program itself! Some areas of improvement include possibly having more in-person events and meetings. That way, the cohort can get to know one another more personally. This activity is similar to Spelman’s Health Careers Opportunities Pipeline Preparation Program, except it is through a medical school this time- connecting my undergraduate experiences to potential grad school experiences. This program helped to affirm my goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. To make the most of this opportunity, I plan to stay in touch with all of the students and mentors we are able to connect with. A strong network is essential to success!
