Engages as a leader in civic life
Kellye Cleveland: Organizing National Voter Registration Day Table (6 Points)
I organized a voter registration table for National Voter Registration Day- September 16, 2025 which was such a meaningful experience. We partnered with Fulton County to officially register students and reminded me how powerful civic engagement can be when it’s personal and accessible. Many students didn’t know whether to stay registered at home or register in Georgia, so guiding them through that decision showed me how much impact education and clarity can have on participation.
As Spelman Student Government Director of Leadership and Civic Engagement, it was exciting to represent and serve Spelman at this level. Coordinating with county officials and engaging directly with students helped me strengthen my leadership and communication skills. It also reminded me that leadership is about connection and meeting people where they are to empower them to take action.
This experience reaffirmed my passion for civic service and advocacy. Moving forward, I want to continue creating spaces where students feel informed and confident using their voices. Whether through SGA, community work, or future legal advocacy, I’ll keep building on this momentum to help others see their vote as a tool for change.
