Creating a research bibliography or proposal using library databases: 4 points
As a Fellow of the UNCF/Mellon Mays Undergraduate Program, I recently developed a prospectus for my research that will carry throughout my undergraduate years and into my pursuit of a Ph.D. My research, entitled Life Shaping Craft: Examining the Compositional Processes of Black Women Writers, focuses on utilizing mixed methods (including critical readings, archives, and multimedia) to analyze how Black women’s process of writing differs from the canon or norm, and draw conclusions on how the experience of Black womanhood directly influences craft. My research prospectus outlines my plan of action within this research, complete with an introduction, methodology section, and a literature review, formulated with sources from the AUC Woodruff Library, Emory Woodruff Library, and Emory Rose Library Databases. This bibliography and proposal, complete with scholarly articles, books, correspondence, drafts, and more, will be my first stepping stone into a well-developed research project as I continue to build my skills in pursuit of my doctorate.
