Created Cherry Pottery (Taking art classes/workshops and Creating original artwork) (5 pts) - Londyn Lumas-Harmon

I attended a pottery workshop where I created my own piece of clay pottery, a small, cherry-shaped dish. During this session, the instructor guided us through each step, from shaping the clay to glazing the final piece. I really enjoyed the hands-on nature of the activity and how relaxing it felt to focus on the creative process. Even though it was a bit challenging to get the shape right, I appreciated learning to be patient and flexible when things did not go as planned.

This experience reminded me of how art can serve as both expression and reflection. It connected to ideas I have encountered in my biology classes about natural materials and transformation, showing how something as simple as clay can be shaped into something beautiful and lasting. I also thought about cultural connections from my Spanish courses, where pottery holds deep meaning in many traditions. Overall, the workshop was a peaceful and rewarding experience that taught me to embrace imperfection and enjoy the process of creating something by hand.
