Attendance at the Spelman College Museum (Museum Visit- 2 points)

On October 9th, I visited the Spelman College Museum to see the “I Will Not Bend an Inch” exhibit by Nancy Elizabeth Prophet.  The experience was powerful and moving.  Her sculptures showed strength, emotion, and resilience; each piece seemed to reflect her fight to be seen as a Black woman artist in a time of deep discrimination.

The title stood out to me because it perfectly captured Prophet’s determination and strength.  Despite the challenges she faced as a black woman, she refused to give up or compromise her vision.  Seeing her work displayed at Spelman made it even more meaningful, as it celebrates the creativity and endurance of Black women artists, especially those at Spelman.

I left the exhibit feeling inspired by her story and reminded of the importance of standing firm in your purpose, no matter what obstacles come your way.
